12pm Midday Walk
Today’s lunchtime walk had a new feeling in the air. That is, as of today Spain is out of the state of alarm and into the New Normal. Despite the end of the estado de alarma, there are still rules in place such as wearing a mask, social distancing and limits on gatherings of people

We start today’s walk in the Plaza Perez Galdos where we found the main church Iglesia de la Nuestra Señora de Arguineguin in session with COVID safe measures. As you can see we have lovely blue sky today.
We walked past 2 play parks and both were still sectioned off with police tape. Children have since found other places to play and gather.

In our last Arguineguin walk post, we went early at 08:00am on a Saturday morning before people headed to the beach so you will see a big difference in these photos.
Walking under the main road through el tunel, you’d be mistaken into thinking there was nobody around, but as we turn the corner onto Calle Miguel Marrero Rodríguez, it’s clear where everybody is.

Las Marañuelas beach was full of islanders enjoying the first day of Summer. While it looks crowded, the top road was more of a problem where people were gathering to drink cans from the Spar Express in the pathway.
La Lajilla Beach was also very busy today.

Thanks for joining in this Sunday Arguineguin walk, we hope you’ll join us on the next one. 🌸
