Arguineguin is home to some of the best beaches on the Costa Mogan. The main Arguineguin beaches are Las Marañuelas beach, the natural pool of Costa Alegre beach at La Lajilla and the newest El Perchel beach. There are several rural coves along the way not forgetting Patalavaca and the nearby tropical Anfi beach.
Las Marañuelas Beach
Las Marañuelas Beach known to tourists as Arguineguin beach is the biggest beach in Arguineguin. It’s a dark sand beach which has watersports such as Stand Up Paddle and is the main area for water events such as Fiesta del Carmen and village races. The maritime road next to Marañuelas beach is currently undergoing renovation to make it pedestrianised and safer for visitors. There are places to get ice cream and a nice meal all along this stretch of road such as Spar Express, El Tucan and Taste Meson.
Costa Alegre Beach
Costa Alegre beach known to tourists as La Lajilla is a small beach with a natural pool next to Dorado Beach hotel. It’s a favourite with families because it’s protected by a sea wall which creates a swimming pool on the beach. There is a sunbathing deck, footwash and accessibility ramp. There are public toilets on the side of B-One Beach Club and bars and restaurants to along such as Sol y Sombra, Los Pescaitos and Los Antonios.
Perchel Beach
Perchel Beach is the newest beach in Arguineguin. It has natural swimming pool, children’s play park, La Chirina Beach Club and sandy beach to enjoy. There’s a strip of cozy bars and restaurants and it’s close to the market square.
We added Anfi beach and Patalavaca beach to this list as they are easy to get to from Arguineguin, either by walking along the coastal path or by car. A taxi will take you easily to Anfi beach for the day or you can catch the bus and if you feel like it, you can walk along the beaches or take the top coastal path which runs alongside the road.
