The beautiful Costa Alegre beach in Arguineguin has a natural pool and is great for a family beach day in Gran Canaria.
This area has been always been known as Costa Alegre by islanders, but some tourists call it La Lajilla beach like the apartments or even Dorado Beach after the nearby hotel.

In 2020 it was officially recognized as Costa Alegre Beach by the Ayuntamiento de Mogán.
The natural pool beach was closed from 16th August 2017 until 28th March 2018 due to a major beach renovation. This first phase of works included improvements to the barranco which usually flows through the middle of beach when there is heavy rain. After a great transformation, here’s how it looks now.

There is a solarium area on the far side, improvements to the walkway, and new purple sunbeds on the beach and decking.
This beach has 2 shower units which is handy after a day on the beach or to wash your feet when you’ve enjoyed an evening paddle.
B-One Costa Alegre Beach Club
New for 2023 is B-One Costa Alegre. This is a beach club with a chill out vibe to get a meal, cocktails or relax on the sunbeds. There is a saxophone player during the day and Ibiza style lounge music of an evening. This is perfect for watching the sunset over food and drinks.
Costa Alegre Beach Video
This video was taken during the Easter holidays, as you can see it gets pretty lively.
On quieter days Costa Alegre beach has a chill out vibe to it and such a lovely place to watch the sunset or enjoy a peaceful hour before the rest of the world wakes up.
Sol y Sombra restaurant is a nice place to enjoy an ice cold drink or snack with a view of the whole beach. Their terrace is right on the beach path so it’s accessible too.
