Discover the excellent quality of the local seafood at the Arguineguin Tuna and Seafood Fair this bank holiday weekend. The event takes places on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May 2022 (Día de Canarias) the day of The Canary Islands.
Head to the church square of Plaza Perez Galdos for show cooking, demonstrations, food stands, games, live music and a special concert by the one and only Caco Senante.

Sunday 29th May 2022 – Showcooking, popular tasting and children’s activities
On May 29th the Fair will open its doors at 11:00 am, a day to learn more about tuna with three exhibitions by renowned chefs. Among these José Guadalupe, who will teach how to cut fish to get the most out of it; Omar Páez, from Tenerife, who will introduce us to sea charcuterie, a new and surprising way of enjoying tuna and other sea products; and Juan Lu Fernández, from the ‘Lu, cocina y alma’ restaurant in Jérez de la Frontera, who will prepare a menu with tuna as the common theme.
Between 15:00 and 17:00h, you will be able to taste the tapas created by chefs from the Mogán establishments: Restaurante Casa Enrique, Industria Qulinaria, Grill Costa Mar, El Cenador, Restaurante Playa de Mogán and Restaurante Marina.
They have taught the recipes, step by step, to the students of Arguineguin’s cooking and gastronomy school, since they will be the ones who prepare the tapas. There will be six varieties of which a total of 2,400 units will be prepared and served at the fair.
During the day you will also have the possibility of buying tuna preparations and other local products from various businesses in Mogán, there will be music and educational game stands related to the marine environment for the little ones.
Monday 30th May 2022 – Día de Canarias
Taking advantage of the fact that it is Canary Islands Day 🇮🇨 we will celebrate a profession that is as traditional as ours, that of the fisherman, with a recognition of two neighbours who have dedicated their lives to the sea, leaving a legacy of forty years. They are José Llovel ‘El Guirrillo’ and Antonio Godoy ‘El Interés’.
Thanks to various documentaries that have been made for the occasion, we will be able to get a little closer to the muleteers of the municipality and the wives of the sailors of yesteryear, who I am sure will not leave you indifferent due to the respect, nostalgia and affection that they show to professions as hard as those related to the sea.
This will start at 11:00h and will be followed by a concert by the artist Caco Senante and other musical performances, accompanied until 17:00h with tuna and other products from the municipality that will be offered by various local establishments. The event will conclude with the Folklore Show starring the Artistic Schools of Mogán starting at 18:00h
